Bath Weekend

We spotted a nice tree on our way to the Roman Baths.

Stopped at the oldest house in Bath (built 1680) - home of the original Sally Lunn Bun. Story behind this Bun - Sally Lunn, a young French refugee, arrived in England over 300 years ago. She started baking a rich round bread known as the Sally Lunn Bun which became a popular delicacy in Georgia England.

We didn't think the Sally Lunn Bun was that special, tasted like a toasted hamburger scone, but the jam and clotted cream made all the difference. You can also have the Bun with savoury stuff.

After the "healthy meal", we visited the Roman Baths. This is a picture of the Great Bath. The Roman Baths at Bath is apparently the best preserved ancient baths and temple complex in Northern Europe. It is at the World Heritage Site of Bath that the only thermal springs in the UK emerge from deep underground. Hot water still gushes into the Great Bath though the original Roman channels.
