Gaudi inspiration

The present Casa Batlló, is the result of a total refurbishment of an old previous conventional house built in 1877.

Casa Milà, commonly known as La Pedrera is the largest civil building designed by Antoni Gaudi. The apartment block was constructed between 1906 and 1910. It was Gaudi's last work before devoting himself to the construction of the Sagrada Familia.

Sagrada Familia - Gaudi's unfinished masterpiece, the Expiatory Temple of the Holy Family. This is the most popular attraction in Barcelona, and is set for completion in 2026, the anniversary of Gaudi's death. Gaudi designed three facades for the temple but only the Nativity facade was completed when he died in 1926.

The Passion Facade completed by Gaudi's successor, Josep Subirachs.

Gaudi's architecture was inpired by plants, animals and other things in nature. Columns inside the Sagrada were built to look like trees.
