If you're a Star War fan, you should recognise this place. The Plaza de Espana was the place that inspired George Lucas's vision for the Planet Naboo.
Along the length of the Plaza there is a series of ceramic panels dedicated to the Spanish provinces. We're sitting against the panel for Barcelona.
If you check out the second "Star War" episode (Attack of the Clones), you can watch the young Anakin and Padmeyou walking over the above bridge and along the corridors of Plaza de Espana buildings (now used as government offices).
Funny enough, we bumped into Soo, Adrian and Soo-er whilst we were going down the Giralda and they were going up the Giralda. Decided to explore Plaza de Espana together after a bit of a siesta at Star Bucks. The locals take siesta pretty seriously in Seville. Shops , and even some of the tourist attractions, close between 2 and 4pm in Seville
Espana fountain.
Walking along the upper corridors of the Plaza de Espana.
Just had to finish off with a Star Wars pose - no light sabres unfortunately!
