Museo del Prado

Wed (8 Aug 07) - Walked past Palacio Gaviria (the club we went to the night before) which looked rather tame in the morning.

Tried the churros at San Gines Chocolateria
"Healthy" churros
Deb has a thing for uniformed men. I got a good shot of the taller policeman for Deb! But apparently nothing beats Italian policemen in their Armani pants! These Spanish policemen appeared to be investigating some crime that occurred near the cafe (well, from what we could deduce from their actions, given our limited Spanish, and the fact that the cafe is so close to another famous Madrid nightclub. The white doors behind Deb lead into the club).

San Gines church
Deb wanted a picture with the scooter.

Museo del Prado - we saw the the famous gun execution painting (The Third of May) done by Goya and the painting of Satan eating his own son, also a Goya painting. I like the Las Meninas painting done by Velaquez, which was also displayed at Museo del Prado.

Statue of Francisco de Goya
Plaza Murillo - Bartholomew Murillo is another famous Spanish painter.
The Ritz in Madrid
Gran Via
Hotel Vincci -where we stayed
Callao which is the closest Metro stop to our hotel
Murphy's Laws in Spanish
Spanish fast food before we did our last minute shopping
