This is the Palace of Versailles - built by King Louis XIII and added to by King Louis XIV in the 17th century. It is very impressive - but is outside of France - so requires a 45min training journey.
The 'girls' - May with the two sisters.
The Chongs at Versailles. :)
Inside Versailles - massive halls. Note our audio guides (no we weren't hard of hearing!).
The Hall of mirrors - mirrors were very expensive in those days - the mirrors reflect the gardens outside - very grand! At this point, we had already lost Elisa and Denning - who were by this time already in the local McDonalds.
One of the rooms - The Guardroom - set aside for the use of the Queen's guards. It was here on the morning of October 6, 1789, guards lost their lives helping the Queen (Marie-Antoinette) seek refuge by the King's side...
The gardens - no idea what statue... but looks nice...
The palace outside.... fron yet another angle... the original small chateau built by King Louis XIII.
The view of Paris from Printemps (major department store!) - thanks to Max for the tip regarding the spectacular views.
Our last night in Paris... a romantic evening walk...
