Ba and Mum at the British Museum
At the Great Court. The Musuem has an amazing library but it was closed for refurbishment.

Elgin Marbles - original sculptures from the Parthenon in Athens. In the 1800s, Lord Elgin, British ambassador to Athens removed about half of the remaining sculptures from the fallen ruins at the Parthenon and brought them back to Britain. The British Museum then bought the sculptures from Lord Elgin years later. Successive Greek governments have argued for the sculptures kept in the Museum to be returned to Athens. May really wants to see the Parthenon, will have to see if we can squeeze it into one weekend.
May's favourite part of the museum - "Egyptian death and afterlife" (yes, May has quite morbid interests). Fascinating how as part of the mummifying process, the organs of the dead body (such as the heart and liver, etc) were removed and placed in urns, which were then buried alongside the mummified body.
Photos of Trafalgar Square covered with a patch of grass for 2 days.
