Sat (24-03-07) - Lillian organised dinner at Cafe de Paris to celebrate Andrew's last night in London. The Cafe de Paris has been around since 1924 and was a favourite haunt of Princess Margaret, The Aga Kahn and Grace Kelly.
At about 10pm this dining hall converts into a dance floor/night club.
Live jazz music - was told by the waiter that this jazz singer has been singing the same songs every Saturday for the past couple of years, and his songlist is probably limited to only 5 songs or so .
Gaz, me, Cath, Galv, Lucas, Andrew, Caroline and Lillian. Garry made the mistake of ordering the most asian meal in a Western restaurant - steamed sea bass on a bed of hokkien noodles - apparently indomie would have tasted ten times better, but my rosemary lamb cutlets were pretty good.
Galv said it was the most Western meal he ever had since he arrived in London, and he was brave enough to try the foie gras, of course, he had to finish off his mains with a Chinese touch by ordering roast suckling pig (but obviously he didn't get a whole pig like the ones you see at Chinese weddings).
